Mac Miller – Angels (When She Shuts Her Eyes)
Mac doesn’t slow down. Five months after being the first independent artist in over 10 years to debut at #1 on the Soundscan charts, Pittsburgh native Mac Miller has released an entire mixtape full of new deep tracks. I think the tape captures Mac and his up and coming life of riches, fame, and what comes with it. “Macadelic” features 17 brand new tracks from the Rostrum Records signee, who teamed up with a number of producers including Big Jerm, Ritz Reynolds, ID Labs, Lex Luger, Cardo, Clams Casino, Teddy Roxpin, and many more to create the project. Guest MCs on “Macadelic” include Sir Michael Rocks, Kendrick Lamar, Iman Omari, Juicy J, Cam’ron, Joey Bada$$, Lil Wayne, and Casey Veggies. If you enjoyed Mac Millers old stuff before many people said he went “mainstream” you should love this mixtape. In addition to the mixtape, Mac dropped a visual directed by Ian Wolfson for the Macadelic track ‘Loud’, which is definitely worth listening to along with the rest of the tape. Hats off great.
Cassidy Ford
There are plenty of musicians that write songs that deal with rebellion and heartache… But this up and coming teen artist, Cassidy Ford, handles the subject in a way few, if any, have. Cassidy writes songs so deep and thoughtful that they are sure to comfort to anyone who listens. Cassidy’s producer Todd Wright believes she is wise well beyond her years as a singer and songwriter. Wright has been quoted saying, “I had written a handful of songs that I felt defined my life’s body of work and then along comes this kid who lives around the corner from me and changes everything. So many of the songs I’ve written with Cassidy I would say are the best I’ve been a part of in 25 years of writing songs. And ‘Wings Are Useless’…well, it’s just an indescribable and important piece of music and the perfect way to introduce Cassidy to the world.” Cassidy Ford has the full package and she’s the real deal but just needs get her music in the hands of the right people. Listen and be wowed by this mind-blowing young artist.

Keith Urban – For You
“For You” is the latest single from Keith Urban, and let me tell you this is a must listen. This song was specifically written for the credits of the action packed movie Act of Valor. The Lyrics behind this song are deep and incorporated with the visuals from the music video makes this song hit home. After listening to this song for the first time, I definetly got some goosebumps and i’m sure you will too. Make sure to take a listen and go out and see the movie Act of Valor.
Intense – Dawn
Intense seems to be coming out of nowhere, but with the recent release of the LOVE CANDY EP not much can be said, but damn. Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn. These London natives seem to be taking inspiration from Flux Pavilion and Skrillex. INTENSE definitely has what it takes to be the change that DUBSTEP was looking for. Their sound doesn’t focus only on ‘the drop’ that so many other dub-fanatics seem to be infatuated with, but instead brings melody to the madness. Their new EP was just released a few days ago so be sure to turn up your bass as loud as it can go and check it out in the link above.

TJ MIZELL- Asap Rocky/Asap Nast Remix “Strive & Proper & Peso”
TJ is the son of legend, mix master, and unfortunately as of late Jam Master Jay. He has returned to his roots in New York City and is hailing out of DJ Scratch Academy after growing up in the D.C. burbs. He has been mixing shows and falling into his fathers footsteps making a name for himself one performance at a time. This isn’t what we usually post but you’ve got to show some #LocalLove for my hometown native TJ Mizell also featured on xxlmag.com
Bringing you TJ Mizell of DopeRoots.
PT Walkley – Way That You Are
“The Way That You Are” by PT Walkley from Jade Harris on Vimeo.
Hey it’s Thomas and I’m sorry we’ve been gone for a while… There are no excuses. So, without further adieu, I would like to bring you the great opportunity to sit down and be wowed by PT Walkley‘s new single, “Way That You Are,” from the album, Thriller. I’m not quite sure why they titled it Thriller because there will probably never be one like the as of late Michael Jackson’s album. Walkley is not exactly well-known among most indie rock fanatics and the majority of casual listeners. Walkley is also involved with a number of musical projects, including The Blue Jackets. The New York City based singer and songwriter still has a fair amount of name recognition. He and his live band opened for internationally renowned Coldplay at Madison Square Garden and Weezer at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Artists do not get picked for such colossal gigs like that unless they’re pretty damn good. He still hasn’t totally taken off so he composes music for a variety of commercials, films and even television shows. If you are a true indie fan you’ll definitely be able to vibe with PT Walkley.
Monster Mashups (AER Vs. Notorious)
Here to bring you a new school throwbacks that you can vibe to this wonderful thirsty Thursday. Even though it’s a little old it didn’t get the attention it truly deserved. What is it? It’s a mashup mixtape with up and coming reggae stars Aer and legend and icon Notorious B.I.G.! Nobody had a clue where it came from when it dropped. Monster Mashes, a 15 year-old from Camp Hill, PA, decided to create a mashup mixtape mixing together the vocals and instrumentals from the reggae/hip-hop/alternative duo Aer with the too nice gangsta rap from Biggie Smalls. For a 15 year old, Monster Mashes seems to make better mixes than most. If you like “Party On the Moon” and “Wondering Why I Fell” be sure to check out the rest of his mixtape!

Luke Bryan – Suntan City
Its that time of year again, Springs rolling in, and Luke Bryan is coming out with yet another Spring Break EP. This is the first single to Bryan’s traditional Spring Break EP. Luke Bryan is one of my favorite country artists in the industry today, and not because he has the most popular songs out on the radio, but because he can go from singing up beat songs to a slow song that could dig deep into your skin. His EP “Spring Break 4… Suntan City” will be releasing on iTunes March 6th, and its definitely going to have some upbeat songs to get ya ready for summer.
